Coping with Covid-and …
Even before Covid-19 hit, our lives were turned upside down by my wife Kim’s struggles with debilitating, migraine-like headaches. In the midst of that, virus lockdowns, quarantines, threat of job loss, and her agonizing condition made life a challenge. Thankfully in June, doctors in California were able to repair a spinal fluid leak that had been the cause of nearly 18 months of pain and uncertainty. This video is a testimony I recorded for my Tonasket Free Methodist Church family of God’s faithfulness through a really challenging season.
Sports Time Out!
Since July, 2020 I’ve been “appearing” on Michelle Mendoza’s Sports Round Table segment with a great crew of sports fans to talk about the highlights and issues of the week. Keeping in touch with my sports roots!
The above is a Zoom video of a recent broadcast. Others can be found at https://mymichellelive.com/sports-time-out, along with Michelle’s regular, daily podcasts of her Seattle-area radio show on KGNW.
Gazette-Tribune Days
I’d only been a sports reporter when I started at the G-T. And I still love sports. But something special happened when I sat down to talk to veterans of our armed forces to hear and share their stories.
Sports Websites
Two states, two websites. Buckland Media (shown above in a screenshot from the Wayback Machine (http://wayback.archive.org/) ran in various forms from 1997-2010 in Michigan. OK Valley Sports ran in North Central Washington in a couple different incarnations 2011-16. Buckland was far more successful at a time when it was a cutting-edge endeavor, topping out at over 1,000 visitors a day for a few years before the economy crashed in 2008.
I still have pictures and videos from all those years, so shoot me an email or click the Facebook icon if you’re feeling nostalgic!
